Literature Text

I'm not alone when I'm with myself
the internal me and I
we're a partnership -
a brotherhood
in looking at the world and life -
we've long seen eye to inner eye

we consider perceptions
what did I see?
and as time goes by
does he indeed still agree with me?

he seems serene to sit in the back
to process things from his secret scene
allows me to make a fool of myself
then tells me I must aspire

from the deepest of discourse
a covenant is there - duplex respect
a love - a knowing what to expect
we've shaken mental hands
about everything
when I hug me I also hug him

there is no regal 'we' for us
he and I come to common ground
from disparate routes
sometimes a bit rough

all memes and biases are
at his disposal
whereas -
my conscious cognition
[still dependant on him]
does take some time

like me he's flawed
but he's super-efficient!

no - I'm not alone when I'm with myself
and am thankful for 'relative' constancy

this discursive cumulative me

~ ~ ~ ~

when you feel alone, that's an opportunity
to connect with your inner self, to ask,
"why do I do this or that?".

the understanding of yourself is the most
important necessity for a happy life.
knowledge is self control, and empathy
for oneself and others.

I believe that the majority of people
on dA are blessed by more creative minds
than most, [a logical conclusion].

more creativity = more to offer the world.
"from those, to whom much is given, much
will be expected."

you've been given a very good mind. show
your appreciation for having received that
which you did not earn - that accident
of birth from which you benefit.

fulfill your responsibility by learning
all about the problems in your community,
your nation, your world. do your share
in making things better. things will get
better.

we ARE 'all in this together'.

So, do you ever come across someone else's art/poem
that so beautifully, and perfectly captures the heart of what
you, yourself have been trying to convey in numerous
works of your own--only the artist you come across does it
SOOOO much better that you just sort of want to put down your own pen or brush?
Yeah.
A brilliant, tender poem.

Damn it :)

And as I'm sure you know, you truly only inspire.  So thank you (again)!
