long loss of a newborn,
or pre-science thought,
such as
thinking of women unequal to men,
...all backward.
we won't stop evolution.
it goes straight ahead,
with fits and starts,
but indeed always through those,
forward in time.
is there action, attraction,
with which we impel this?
yes; let go the past.
attend to the nexus...
sometimes we stop. we're feeling a feeling.
we're floating. a coolness enfolds us.
peace...
evoked by a sunset, scent of the lilacs,
a friendly embrace, claire de lune.
a sense of not I, but WE universal -
a place for our bodies
as well as our souls?
absolutely!
what we need can be memed,
beamed into all hearts,
on the crest of ideas,
inspiration with power
for dreams to 'survive' -
that [evolving] WE might.

MegaMuscleGirl, Ann and Tom sat down for a minute, to find an activity they could all enjoy. “Do you like treehouses?” MegaMuscleGirl asked. “Of course!” Tom said. “But our parents never have time to help us build one.” MegaMuscleGirl jumped up. “No problem! I am very good at building. My mommy and me rebuilt our house in just a few hours last night. With my mega speed and mega strength, it is mega easy for me!” She marched over to a thick tree, wrapped her mega arms around it, and ripped it out of the ground. “Whoa,” Tom whispered. “I wish I could do that!” Even though he had spoken softly, the mega girl had heard him. “Oh, it’s easy,” she said, as she turned around. She waved the tree around as if it was a tiny twig. “All you need is mega muscles!” She put the tree on the ground, sank her hands into it, and tore it in two. “Well, that’s enough wood to build a treehouse. This is without a doubt my favorite work in your gallery.
There are certain beliefs that we (some of us) hold that will retrospectively be obvious errors; the particular one you bring up in the first stanza is a good example. I think that settling comfortably into any idea, though, holds its risks. That evolution of thought has to continue because time continues. Your words here give a real sense of that, and the last few lines serve to do so with hope rather than pessimism.
